District police officers from the Kowary Police Station detained a 64-year-old resident of Karkonoski County suspected of violating a court order. Sub-Inspector Edyta Bagrowska, press officer of the Jelenia Góra Municipal Police Headquarters:
The man was detained by police officers at the beginning of April this year during a domestic intervention reported by the victim. The man was causing a disturbance and was intoxicated. Kowary police officers had previously conducted proceedings against him, in which he was charged with the psychological and physical abuse of his mother.
She adds:
The man abuses alcohol, which triggers aggression in him; he started arguments for no reason, during which he insulted, grabbed and pushed his mother. By a judgment of the District Court in Jelenia Góra, he is prohibited from contacting or approaching his mother for a period of four years.
The 64-year-old was placed in police custody. He now faces up to three years in prison.
