The Diagnostic Imaging Laboratory has a brand-new machine, one of the most advanced available on the medical market. A mammograph is an excellent and indispensable tool used in the prevention and diagnosis of all breast changes.
Which women should get examined?
Hospital: “Mammography is recommended for all women over 45. If you care about prevention, have a confirmed BRCA1 and BRCA2 gene mutation, or cancer has affected your grandmother, mother or aunt, you must make sure to undergo mammography.”
How much does it cost?
If the patient has a referral from the Oncology Clinic operating at ZOZ in Bolesławiec, the mammography is performed free of charge.
How should you prepare for the examination?
No special preparation is required for the examination. The most important things are a positive attitude and a little courage. Only particularly sensitive women may experience slight discomfort caused by pressing the breasts against the machine.
The examination takes only a few minutes. The image obtained is highly accurate and precisely identifies the location of any possible changes.
Mammography is safe and non-invasive and uses minimal doses of radiation. Nevertheless, a referral from a family doctor or specialist is required.
