Piotr Roman informed the councillors:

Last week, the Bolesławiec county head received a phone call from the Ministry of National Defence informing him that a decision on funding the construction of the second section of the bypass should be made in the near future—namely, the link between the roundabout in Kruszyn and, conventionally speaking, the roundabout in Łąka.

The investment is expected to cost PLN 90 million. The primary argument in favour of this project is to ensure a smooth connection between the Bolesławiec motorway junction and the military unit where, among others, successive rotations of US Army soldiers are stationed.

Importantly for Bolesławiec residents, a small portion of the aforementioned funds is to be allocated to building a link between the bypass and the old entrance to the military unit.

We have reported on heavy military equipment damaging local roads many times in our articles. Bolesławiec's local governments have repeatedly intervened in the matter. However, despite the firm stance of local authorities, there were still instances of military equipment damaging our roads. (Recently, a heavy transport from Romania travelled through the city centre.)

Piotr Roman:

We do not consent to this.

We will certainly return to the subject.
