The incident occurred on Tuesday, March 30, on the road between Warta Bolesławiecka and Łaziska. Before 8 p.m., a Volkswagen Passat passenger car crashed into a fire engine, then travelled several dozen metres and ended up in a ditch. (The officers were on their way to an intervention).
According to the firefighters, the passenger-car driver suddenly moved into the opposite lane. The man was injured and was attended to by an emergency medical services team.
Three firefighters complained of spinal and back pain. Four fire service units, the police and an emergency medical services team were at the scene.
Update
Four people were taken to hospital: three firefighters and the person responsible for the accident. The latter turned out to be a 36-year-old resident of Bolesławiec. The man was completely drunk, with 2 per mille of alcohol in his system. He now faces up to two years in prison.
