Officers from the Police Station in Kruszyna caught two men red-handed. The officers:
The perpetrators broke into a garage intending to steal valuable items. When they realized they would soon be arrested, they jumped into a sewer to hide in order to avoid capture.
It did them little good. The would-be thieves were quickly located. However, they did not want to leave their hiding place, so they were pulled out by force.
The suspects are residents of Warta Bolesławiecka municipality, aged 30 and 24. They were detained and charged with attempted burglary.

At the crime scene, police officers found loot prepared to be carried away: parts of a metal railing and pipes.
Both suspects could now face a prison sentence of between one and as many as ten years.
