Criminal investigators from Bolesławiec determined that illegal goods might be located in two apartments on the same street in the City of Ceramics. KPP:
The 62-year-old woman had two jute sacks in her rooms containing cut tobacco weighing nearly 11 kilograms.
In the second premises, used by a 60-year-old man from Bolesławiec, officers also secured tobacco without Polish excise-duty markings.
A total of more than 14 kg of illegal tobacco was secured. The losses to the state treasury were estimated at PLN 14,000 (PLN 11,000 in lost excise duty; more than PLN 3,000 in lost VAT revenue).
The officers are investigating the circumstances of the case, including where the illegal goods came from. Both Bolesławiec residents may face up to three years in prison.
