– Not everyone in Poland is Catholic. We are diverse. The Church and politicians keep citing old data, allegedly showing that more than 90% of the country’s population is Catholic. The opportunity to show what the situation really looks like is approaching – says Krzysztof Gwizdała, the originator of the “I do not belong to any religion” campaign.

The census will begin in April. It will last three months. We are all required to participate. The census form will contain many questions. One concerns religious affiliation.

– I encourage people to select I do not belong to any religion, when they in fact do not belong to any religion or want to show the Catholic Church that they do not support the bishops’ actions, for example regarding the concealment of sexual abuse or attacks on LGBTIQ people – says Gwizdała.
