The incident occurred on Thursday, 11 March, in the afternoon. An 88-year-old resident of al. Tysiąclecia was visited by a woman and a man, who told her that there was a water-system failure.
The elderly woman let the scammers inside. (They pretended to check whether water was running.) A third person then entered the apartment, searched the premises and stole more than PLN 2,000.
Fraud is punishable by six months to eight years in prison.
