The incident occurred on Thursday, March 11, in the morning. The driver of a Fiat Uno passenger car failed to stop for a traffic check in Warta Bolesławiecka. The officers began a pursuit.
The fleeing driver was stopped at the intersection of Starzyńskiego and Kleeberga streets in Bolesławiec, near the Groszek shop. There, the driver rammed a sign and damaged a fence. He then tried to escape on foot, but to no avail.
It turned out that the 24-year-old resident of Bolesławiec had fled because he is subject to a driving ban that remains in force until 2024. The man may now face a sentence of between three months and as many as five years in prison.
