The incident occurred on Thursday, March 4, on the road between Warta Bolesławiecka and Iwiny. After 1 p.m., the driver of an Opel Astra, a 50-year-old resident of Bolesławiec, overtook on double solid lines and caused a collision with a Jeep driven by a 35-year-old resident of Złotoryja County. Moreover, the 50-year-old culprit’s Opel struck another Astra from the side; it was driven by a 26-year-old man.

Both drivers were injured and taken to hospital. The culprit’s driving licence was confiscated.

The Bolesławiec County Headquarters of the State Fire Service reported on the incident:

On February 4, 2021, at 1:11 p.m., the Command Post of the Bolesławiec County Commander of the State Fire Service received a report from the Emergency Notification Centre in Wrocław about a collision involving three passenger cars between Warta Bol. and Iwiny. The duty officer dispatched three crews from the Rescue and Firefighting Unit in Bolesławiec, as well as one crew each from the Volunteer Fire Service in Warta Bol. and the Volunteer Fire Service in Raciborowice.

Upon arrival, the firefighters secured the scene, provided qualified first aid to two injured people and disconnected the vehicles’ batteries. Two emergency medical teams, two police patrols and a representative of the road administrator also arrived at the scene. Fire service operations lasted 59 minutes.
