The initiator of the Bolesławiec hearts is Damian Sawczak, a councillor of the Bolesławiec City Council, who as early as 2020 initiated a collection to purchase a heart-shaped container:
Helping people in need is very noble, and we cannot remain indifferent to suffering. Every day, we encounter many charitable campaigns, including collections of plastic bottle caps, which are purchased by recycling companies and then processed. Small, inconspicuous plastic caps become a springboard for people in need of help thanks to the commitment of society.
Municipal officials:
The “Heart from the Residents of Bolesławiec” campaign was successful. The collection and funds from the sponsor “Romanowscy” Sp. z o.o. made it possible to achieve the goal. Two hearts were purchased and installed at pl. J. Piłsudskiego and ul. Jana Pawła II (near the school).
