Police officers from the Zgorzelec Nysa group, working together with officers from the Police Station in Bogatynia, determined through operational activities where the stolen excavator was located. – The machine was stolen from one of the properties in Bogatynia Municipality after it had previously been broken into. The victim valued the lost property at PLN 180,000 – reports Assistant Inspector Agnieszka Goguł, press officer of the County Police Headquarters in Zgorzelec. – As a result of the actions taken, officers recovered the excavator in Lubań County and arrested a 48-year-old man suspected of committing the crime.
The arrested man was charged with theft involving a break-in. This crime carries a sentence of between one and up to ten years in prison. Officers have already seized money from the suspect to cover future penalties and fines.
The prosecutor placed the 48-year-old man under police supervision.
