On Valentine’s Day, law enforcement officers arrested Dariusz Z., who several years ago ran a Family Children’s Home in Wrocław together with his wife. The facility was intended to provide foster care in natural conditions for children and young people who were orphaned or deprived of parental care. However, the facility became the scene of a nightmare for them.

Between 2004 and 2008, Dariusz Z. abused those in his care, used violence and sexually abused underage residents below the age of 15. KGP:

After the truth came to light, Dariusz Z. became elusive to the justice authorities. Therefore, on 7 May 2018, the District Court for Wrocław–Fabryczna issued a warrant for his arrest. Unfortunately, the wanted man could not be located in Poland or any other EU country.

At the end of 2020, officers from the Criminal Department of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław joined the efforts. The police carried out a series of checks that ruled out beyond any doubt the possibility that the wanted man was staying in Poland. They therefore asked the court to initiate an international search.

The result? Thanks to close cooperation and the ongoing exchange of information between representatives of the ENFAST network from the Search and Identification of Persons Department of the Criminal Bureau of the National Police Headquarters, its network partner, the US federal agency United States Marshals Service, and the Philippines’ Search Team (FSU), the location where Z. was hiding was established. Investigators:

Dariusz Z.’s image was published on the website Europe’s Most Wanted Fugitives List, which contains information about searches for Europe’s most dangerous criminals. Police officers from the search team in Manila and local police on the Philippine island of Siquijor took part in the operation to arrest the wanted man.

Z. is facing deportation.
