The Municipal Centre for Environmental Education has prepared an exhibition presenting artwork by pupils in grades I–III of Bolesławiec primary schools. The drawings and three-dimensional works received distinctions in the competition “We Will Beat Smog When We Take Care of Clean Air Ourselves,” announced by the Municipal Police and concluded in December last year. The competition has ended, but the problems caused by smog have not disappeared, especially recently, during a freezing winter such as had not been seen for many years.
The exhibition “The Smog Epidemic. Even Children Know This” contains information and data drawn from the report “#Oddychaj Polsko 2020,” prepared by Airly. It draws attention to the still-current problem of smog and its consequences, which have intensified during the pandemic. It reminds visitors that in Bolesławiec we can check air quality on an ongoing basis thanks to sensors installed throughout the city by Airly and Syngeos. Measurement results are available through the free applications of both companies or via the Bolesławiec City Hall website.
The texts displayed alongside reproductions of the children’s works also contain brief advice on how to reduce the amount of smog in our surroundings.
