Severe frosts are persisting throughout Poland, so police officers are intensifying inspections of places where people in need may be staying. Officers from the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters regularly inspect such locations. “The aim of these activities is to prevent threats to life and health. The preventive measures taken by police officers are intended to reduce incidents with tragic consequences and provide assistance to as many people in need as possible,” reports asp. szt. Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer of the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters. “Police officers also pay attention to people under the influence of alcohol in circumstances posing a threat to their lives.”

The spokesperson adds:

All these activities are assistance-oriented, and therefore, while carrying out their official duties, police officers provide people in need with information and all possible help in reaching facilities that assist homeless people and others requiring care. This winter season, due to the pandemic and sanitary restrictions, the rules for using shelters have changed.

Police officers remind the public that sometimes one phone call can save a human life.
