The incident occurred on February 6 in the afternoon. “A 27-year-old man, under the influence of alcohol (more than 2 per mille in his exhaled breath), trespassed onto property belonging to a Lwówek Police officer and used a metal pipe to damage parts of the building,” reports Sergeant Olga Łukaszewicz, press officer for the Lwówek District Police Headquarters. “He then returned with an axe and, using obscene language, threatened the police officer with harm to his health and life.”
A police patrol was immediately dispatched to the scene. The aggressor was subdued, detained and taken to a police cell. The 27-year-old was then brought before the prosecutor’s office, where he was charged with making criminal threats against an officer and damaging property.
Moreover, at the request of the police and the prosecutor’s office, the court ordered the 27-year-old’s temporary detention for two months. The man faces up to two years in prison.
