Municipal officials:

Due to the snowfall, and in order to ensure the safety of all residents, we remind property managers, owners and administrators of the need to clear snow and ice from pavements adjoining their properties.

This obligation is imposed by the Act of 13 September 1996 on Maintaining Cleanliness and Order in Municipalities and Resolution No. XXIII/267/2020 of the Bolesławiec City Council on the regulations for maintaining cleanliness and order within the city of Bolesławiec.

They add:

Owners and managers of buildings are responsible, under threat of penalties, for:

  • removing snow and ice accumulated on roofs, and clearing mud, snow, ice and other contamination from pavements located directly along the property;
  • removing overhangs (icicles) from eaves, gutters and other parts of the property.

And they announce:

Neglecting these duties is an offence punishable by a fine or by referring a request for punishment to the court. Municipal Police officers will check whether those responsible comply with the regulations.
