On Thursday, 26 November, the fourth St Nicholas Day event, organised by the Association of Former Soldiers of the 62nd Special Company „Commando”, was held at the MOSiR Water and Sports Centre. Around 70 people took part in the activities: participants from Zespół Szkół Ekonomiczno-Technicznych in Rakowice Wielkie, Powiatowy Zespół Szkół i Placówek Specjalnych and Warsztaty Terapii Zajęciowej in Bolesławiec.
During Thursday’s event, participants competed in such challenges as assembling and disassembling weapons, grenade throwing, shooting with ASG weapons and short- and long-barrelled firearms, throwing stars and providing first aid. Inflating a parachute canopy brought the participants the most joy.
The young people received gift packages, while the „Commando” Association funded material prizes for the best-performing participants.
A children’s art competition entitled „Meeting with the Commandos” is soon to be announced at all three educational institutions. The competition will be judged next year.
