COVID-19 vaccinations in numbers
– We have a total of 1 million 51 thousand doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, of which 456 thousand vaccines have been delivered to 509 hub hospitals – said the Head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister Michał Dworczyk. – We are keeping 50 percent of the vaccines delivered to Poland in reserve at the Material Reserves Agency so that a patient who has received the first dose is guaranteed to receive the second dose as well.
– So far, more than 220 thousand vaccinations have already been administered in Poland. In the first week of vaccinations, during the Christmas and New Year period, approximately 50 thousand people were vaccinated. In the second week, the figure was 150 thousand people. By the end of this week, more than 250 thousand people will have been vaccinated. In total, by the end of the week we will have more than 450 thousand vaccinated Poles – Minister Dworczyk summed up. So far, 32 people have reported adverse post-vaccination reactions. These were mainly redness at the injection site and elevated temperature.

Importantly, Poland is among the European Union leaders in terms of the pace of the vaccination process. According to manufacturers’ declarations, Poland will receive 6 million doses by the end of March, making it possible to vaccinate 3 million Poles.
People over 80 and 70 – vaccination registration
Registration for vaccinations for seniors aged 80 and over begins on January 15. It will continue until January 21 2021. Meanwhile, people aged 70 and over will be able to register for vaccinations from January 22. – We decided on this division of seniors because the Medical Council pointed out that people aged 80 and over should have the privilege of choosing the earliest dates, as they are the most vulnerable – noted KRPM Head Michał Dworczyk.
Vaccinations for registered seniors will begin on January 25, 2021. – From January 25, all seniors over 70 will be able to get vaccinated at nearly 6 thousand locations throughout Poland – Minister Dworczyk added. Details are expected to be known this Wednesday.
Vaccinations for residents of Social Welfare Homes
Vaccinations for residents of Social Welfare Homes will begin on January 18. So far, approximately 70 percent of residents of Social Welfare Homes have declared their willingness to be vaccinated. – We are very pleased with the number of people willing to receive the vaccine. This is more than 70 thousand people who will be vaccinated between January 18 and 22 – said Minister of Family and Social Policy Marlena Maląg. Residents of Social Welfare Homes will be vaccinated where they live, using mobile units.
Transporting patients to COVID-19 vaccinations
People who want to receive a COVID-19 vaccination but have difficulty reaching a vaccination point will be able to use specially organized transport. – From January 12, the organization of this transport will begin in municipalities. We will also ask municipalities to organize, by January 15, a telephone line or helpline for citizens and residents of each municipality, so that anyone who needs transport can obtain it easily – said Deputy Minister of the Interior and Administration Paweł Szefernaker. He added that the government would cover part of the cost of transport to vaccination points.
