At the beginning of December, the hospital’s former director was arrested on suspicion of accepting financial benefits and was subsequently dismissed from his job.

Marian Zachar has worked at the hospital for 13 years. Until now, he was deputy director for economic and operational affairs. He took up the position of director on December 14.

For the first time, at the end of last year the hospital managed to make a profit—which, according to the new director, is one of its most important achievements. The profit, although small, resulted from restructuring carried out over the previous two years.

The Regional Hospital for the Nervous and Mentally Ill in Bolesławiec is one of six hospitals of this type in Lower Silesia. The hospital is subordinate to the regional government.
