Police warn against extorting money using a combination padlock. Scammers attach padlocks to the handles of vehicles parked, among other places, in shopping-centre car parks.
A note is left with the padlocks offering “help” removing the padlock. In exchange for a payment of several hundred zlotys via BLIK, the scammer offers to provide the padlock combination.
Police appeal to people not to transfer any money and to report every such case. As for removing the padlock, it will be easier and cheaper to go to a locksmith (a company that makes duplicate keys).
