The incident occurred on Tuesday, December 15, near the pedestrian crossing and the intersection of Tysiąclecia Avenue and Spokojna Street. The driver of a Volkswagen hit the rear of an Opel and then abandoned the car and fled the scene.

It is now known that the driver of the Opel, a 65-year-old resident of Bolesławiec Municipality, stopped to let a pedestrian cross. At that moment, a Volkswagen struck the rear of the vehicle, and its driver fled the scene.
The Opel’s female passenger was taken to hospital. Fortunately, she did not suffer any serious injuries.
The person responsible for the collision, a 27-year-old resident of Bolesławiec, was detained. The man was drunk and wanted by the Bolesławiec court. He could now face up to two years in prison.
