Let us recall. During the November session of the City Council, the Mayor of Bolesławiec remarked sarcastically that there was great interest in the Wiadukt Plaza area. He added that on November 16, the director of the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre told him that, while cleaning the facility in question, they had collected... 150 vodka bottles, 280 beer bottles and 102 cans.
That amount of rubbish appeared at Wiadukt Plaza within approximately two days. Acts of vandalism also occurred.
How did this happen?
During the pandemic and the restrictions, the area by the viaduct became a popular spot for various kinds of celebrations: birthdays, name days and so on. The police even received information that a 100-person birthday party was to take place at Wiadukt Plaza.
The result? The facility has been fenced off—partially, for now. How Paweł Dul, director of the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre in Bolesławiec, informed us, the project has not yet been completed. (The fence is to be ready by December 22.) The task cost PLN 92,000.
In winter, the skatepark will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.. It is to stay open longer in summer. And if it turns out that nobody drinks alcohol there anymore, the gates will remain open all night. What is more, monitoring is to be installed there next year.
What do you think?
