The seat of Szymon Pogoda, head of the Law and Justice councillors’ group on the Bolesławiec City Council, will be taken by Bogdan Biernat, who achieved a very good result in the local elections (213 votes) and had already served as a Bolesławiec councillor.

In the 2018 elections, B. Biernat ran on the Law and Justice list.

Let us recall. In mid-November, we reported that we would have an MP from Bolesławiec! At the time, we wrote:

Szymon Pogoda, a PiS councillor on the Bolesławiec City Council, will take the parliamentary seat from Law and Justice deputy leader Adam Lipiński, who became deputy president of the National Bank of Poland.

In a conversation with the Polish Press Agency, the Bolesławiec politician confirmed that he would accept the parliamentary seat. He added that he would probably take the oath at the December sitting of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, as he is currently in quarantine.

PAP also reported that the Bolesławiec resident would join the Law and Justice parliamentary group.

In last year’s elections to the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, S. Pogoda received 4,876 votes in the Legnica constituency and, despite running in tenth place, achieved the seventh-best result on the list. (Six people from the list won seats.)
