A press conference is under way with the participation of Prime Minister of the United Right government Mateusz Morawiecki, Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Gowin and Health Minister Adam Niedzielski.

The prime minister announced that 100 days of solidarity now lie ahead of us, after which a vaccine is expected to be available.

The government is thawing the economy

On 28 November shopping centres will reopen, but under the strictest sanitary regime. (As M. Morawiecki announced, this will be checked.) Food-service establishments, cinemas, theatres, gyms and fitness clubs will remain closed, until 27 December. (Before Christmas, the government is to announce what happens next).

What about schools?

“We were urged to open schools,” the head of government said. But a different decision was made. Schools will remain closed until 23–24 December, and the winter break will be consolidated into one period: from 4 to 17 January. (The aim is to keep movement and mobility during the break as low as possible).

M. Morawiecki announced that if the epidemic can be brought under control, then from 18 January a return to red and yellow zones may be possible. And he added:

Together, we can make 2021 a year of breakthrough.
