Mariusz Wilk was a co-founder of the Student Solidarity Committee in Wrocław and was imprisoned during martial law. He co-authored the famous “Konspira,” a series of conversations with leaders of the underground “Solidarity,” including Bogdan Borusewicz, Bogdan Lis, Władysław Frasyniuk, Aleksander Hall and Zbigniew Bujak. He collaborated with the Paris-based “Kultura” and is the author of the books: “Wolf’s Notebook: Solovki Notes 1996–1998,” “Wołoka” and “The House on Lake Onega.”
He currently writes for “Rzeczpospolita” (the “Plus-Minus” supplement). His texts have also appeared in “Zeszyty Literackie,” “Gazeta Gdańska” and “Przegląd Polityczny.” In 1999, he was nominated for the Nike Literary Award, and in 2006 for the “Polityka” Passport. He has lived in the Solovki Islands for more than a dozen years.
The event is organized by the Bolesławiec Association of Local Initiatives Centre Via Sudetica and Jacek Ostrowski.
The meeting will take place on Wednesday, November 11, at Piwnica Paryska. It begins at 6:00 p.m.. Admission is free.
