As on Saturday, Sunday’s protest also began at 5:00 p.m. People protested by walking around the town hall and along streets near the market square, expressing their dissatisfaction with the decision of the Constitutional Tribunal.
We reported on the Sunday protest, attended by approximately 200 people, live on the istotne.pl website and Facebook. You can watch it in the video material:
Let us recall that the Constitutional Tribunal ruled that one of the three grounds for a legal abortion was unconstitutional. This concerns the provision allowing abortion in cases where there is a high probability of severe and irreversible fetal impairment or an incurable disease threatening the fetus’s life. Now, following the Tribunal’s decision, women will be forced to carry and give birth to damaged or stillborn fetuses.
Today’s protest ended at approximately 7:00 p.m. Numerous police patrols monitored safety in the streets. Police officers ensured that the column of protesters could safely pass through the city streets. To this end, they continuously closed some streets and intersections to vehicle traffic.
