Tomasz Łuczkowski, a resident of Płóczki in Lwówek County, wrote in his resignation that discussions surrounding the legitimacy of establishing a municipal police force influenced his decision. The candidate may have feared that he would not be able to fulfill the mission of creating a strong force.
City Mayor Piotr Roman will set aside the appointment of a commander for now. It is not yet known whether there will be a new competition or whether additional candidates who participated in the previous competition will be selected.
