Police Operation Znicz is under way. By yesterday, seven collisions and one accident had occurred on the roads in our county (on Sunday, November 1, at around 6:00 p.m., two cars collided while passing each other on the road from Bolesławiec toward Kraśnik. One person was taken to hospital. As we managed to establish, the person suffered only minor injuries).
Despite appeals for caution, officers arrested four people who were driving under the influence of alcohol. Among them was a 19-year-old resident of Bolesławiec, the driver of a Fiat Cinquecento. The 19-year-old was arrested during the night of October 31 to November 1. The way he was driving aroused the officers’ suspicions. It turned out that the man was completely drunk. He had a blood alcohol level of 2 per mille.
What is more, eight people were traveling in the car. None of them had their seat belts fastened. All eight received PLN 100 fines.
All the Cinquecento passengers, aged between 17 and 20 (most of them residents of Bolesławiec), were drunk. An alcohol test showed levels ranging from 1.5 to more than 2 per mille.
The 19-year-old driver now faces up to two years in prison.
