Teddy Eddie is a licensed method for teaching English to children aged 2–7, whose main premise is to combine genuine learning with excellent fun. That is why the classes are full of real, communicative use of language, activated through what children like most: games, movement activities, songs, stories, audio plays and picture cards. The method’s authors drew inspiration from observing their own children, who were themselves of preschool age. They were the first, highly demanding reviewers.

THE BIGGEST ADVANTAGES OF THE COURSE

No more learning individual words; at last, children learn to speak in complete sentences! The Teddy Eddie method was created in response to a certain dissatisfaction among parents, teachers and even the children themselves. They complained that most courses for young children involved so little speaking. Our classes are organised so that children have the opportunity to absorb many elements of a foreign language in a way similar to how they learned their native language. English is treated in class as a means of communication, including in commands and instructions.

Exceptional classes full of humour and surprises! The method’s first goal is the child’s satisfaction – so that they enjoy learning a foreign language, willingly attend lessons and feel confident among other children. The central character is Eddie the Bear, who one day jumps out of a colourful sock to experience countless adventures with the children in the fairy-tale world of English! In addition, the classes are full of games and activities, both classic and completely new. The subject matter is also close to children, which means they never get bored.

The classes are taught by specially selected language instructors, who have the aptitude for working with preschool-aged students and, above all, love young children. In addition to these natural abilities, our instructors undergo a series of training sessions and receive ongoing methodological support.

A very important aspect of the Teddy Eddie method is the instructor’s regular contact with parents, who can count on: open lessons; up-to-date information after each class about the material covered; weekly emails summarising the elements learned and suggesting revision activities with the child at home; and written reports on the child’s progress (each semester).
This ambitious method enables children to learn an exceptionally large number of words and phrases; it is based on countless texts and multimedia materials. Rhymes and songs were written especially for Teddy Eddie, and their lyrics contain structures introduced in class.

Teddy Eddie is also rich in terms of the number of items included in the student’s set. In a colourful and highly durable folder, the young student will find an original, content-rich coursebook, a CD with many recordings and a mini-booklet containing secret words. An indispensable part of the course is also the Playground – an educational application full of online games and activities. And for the parent? A very detailed guide containing information about the material covered and ideas for language games to play with the child at home. At the end of the year, each of our students receives an official diploma and a small prize demonstrating the wealth of knowledge they have mastered.

The Savvy Ed method

The Savvy Ed method is an ambitious English-learning path through which a child aged 7 to 10 can progress all the way to the Young Learners – Flyers level (A2 according to the Council of Europe). It is intended for teaching English to children who attended ambitious language courses in preschool. Savvy Ed lessons will be a milestone for your child on the way to language fluency: a point at which all the expressions, sentences and phrases learned previously are consolidated, activated and used for language production. Children learn to build new sentences and express their thoughts precisely in English; over time, they develop reading and writing skills, as well as the ability to take tests, since they will also have to meet such challenges in their lives. However, the overriding aim of the method remains what learning a foreign language primarily gives us: the ability to communicate and hold a free-flowing conversation. After all, English will be a tool used every day by our children’s generation. Although the content is more serious than that for preschoolers, learning English on Savvy Ed courses is still accompanied by plenty of fun!

In the Savvy Ed method, the children’s guide in the English-speaking world is Ed, a wise bear who can travel wherever he wants because he speaks English. He communicates with children through letters, arousing their curiosity about the world by telling stories about new places he has visited and sending facts from different parts of the globe adapted to the children’s age. Learning English for children is also about opening a window onto knowledge of the world around them, deepening their understanding of different cultures and spending time in an interesting, enriching way. Our materials provide not only an appropriate number of words and exercises, but also important content that supports children’s development.
