Last week, we wrote that the Municipal Commune was seeking EU funds to build a sports and recreational swimming pool at Popiełuszki Square. It is now known that the city authorities will receive PLN 6 million for this purpose from the Regional Operational Programme.

The facility, construction of which is scheduled to begin at the turn of December and January, will include a sports pool (25 × 15.4 m and 1.2–1.8 m deep) and a recreational pool. The main recreational pool (with an area of 200 m²) will include a section for learning to swim and attractions such as loungers with air jets, a water carousel, a waterfall, water cannons, a cascade and underwater geysers.

Other attractions include water slides (classic, turbo slide and family), beaches, a sauna complex, a fitness complex and a bar. The sauna complex will include a dry sauna (Finnish), a saunarium, a salt cave, a steam sauna, specialist showers with water jets, a relaxation hall with loungers and a small graduation tower, a massage room and a solarium. The fitness area will include, among other things, a gym and a squash court.

All service areas of the facility will be fully accessible to people with disabilities. You can read more about the swimming pool here.

Update: 2021-03-27

Unfortunately, due to the current situation, access to swimming pools is restricted throughout the country. If you want to be sure that you can enjoy swimming pools during the upcoming summer season, it is worth considering buying your own garden pool, for example in this shop.
