At the end of July, we reported on a road incident that occurred at night in the village of Ocice. The driver of a car damaged the bus shelter and a streetlight. Eventually, an undamaged shelter appeared in place of the damaged one, although according to the Reader, it was supposed to be completely new.

Travellers can shelter from the wind and it does not rain on their heads... except that the sign on the shelter suggests that we are at a bus stop in Bolesławice, not Ocice. Administratively, it is all one Bolesławiec Municipality, but the villages of Bolesławice and Ocice are several kilometres apart.

We asked Bolesławiec Municipality for a comment on the matter. We will publish the comment as soon as we receive it.

We publish Bolesławiec Municipality’s comment:

In response to a reader’s intervention concerning the bus shelter in the village of Ocice, Bolesławiec Municipality informs that the bus shelter damaged as a result of a road incident was replaced with a shelter obtained from Bolesławice. On 29 September, the contractor commissioned to carry out the installation transported the structure to its designated location. Before being put into use, the structure will be repainted and marked with the correct logo bearing the name of the village.

We would like to point out that all bus shelters throughout the Municipality are standardised, and this type of shelter is no longer being manufactured. Since an unused shelter was available, and with the welfare of the Residents in mind, the decision was made to install it in place of the destroyed one.
