Competition rules for the most beautiful handwritten letter

PURPOSE

The purpose of the competition is to save the art of letter writing from being forgotten, including placing importance on the aesthetic and legible presentation of the letter’s content (e.g. using stationery); and to develop imagination and the ability to express oneself freely through one’s own texts.

THEME

This year’s competition has two themes:

  • “I will tell you about my dream...” – for categories I (ages 10–12) and II (ages 13–15)
  • “I like returning to places I have already been...” – for category III (ages 16 and above)

The letter may be addressed to a real or fictional person, and may also be an open letter. Each participant has the right to interpret the theme freely and develop it at their own discretion.

FORMAT

A competition participant may send ONE LETTER handwritten in legible Polish. Illegible letters will not be assessed. Competition entries must be written on paper (a notebook page, stationery, etc.; please do not enclose illustrations) and take the form of a letter in an envelope.

The envelope should also contain a separate sheet with the participant’s details: first and last name, address (or email address), contact telephone number, and consent to publication and processing of personal data (solely for the competition’s promotional purposes).

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS

Entries will be assessed in the following age categories:

  1. CATEGORY: ages 10–12
  2. CATEGORY: ages 13–15
  3. CATEGORY: ages 16 and above

ASSESSMENT AND PRIZES

The submitted letters will be assessed by a Competition Committee consisting of writers. The Organizer provides attractive prizes for the winners of the two younger categories, while adult-category winners will receive gift vouchers in addition to material prizes. Their value will depend on the Competition Committee’s verdict and the number of places awarded.
