[…] pursuant to the amendment to the regulation on misdemeanours, as of 4 September 2020 the Municipal Guard received new powers granting municipal guards the right to impose fines by means of penalty notices.
Officials add:
Under the new regulations, a guard officer may impose a fine of up to PLN 500 on a person who has not submitted the declaration used to determine the waste-collection fee. The same penalty may be imposed on a person who provided untrue information in the declaration in order to pay less for waste collection.
The penalty may also apply to people who declared that they would install a composter but failed to do so or do not use it. Officers may also fine people who, for example, sort their waste improperly or do not sort it at all.
