14-year-old Roksana from Bielsk Podlaski left home on September 7 this year at around 8:15 a.m. There had been no contact with her since then. Police established that instead of going to school, the girl went to the railway station and took a train to Bolesławiec. There, at the railway station, she met an unknown man, and all trace of her was lost.
Police officers from the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters and the Search and Rescue Group at the Lwówek Śląski County Police Headquarters, whose indispensable member is a tracking dog, began searching for the teenager.
The intensive search operation lasted several hours. A few minutes after midnight on September 12, officers found the girl. The teenager was in the basement of the ruins of a farm located near Chmielno, not far from Lwówek Śląski. The 14-year-old was safe and well and, after a medical consultation, was transported to the police unit, from where she will be placed in her family’s care.
At the same time, the man whom police officers had been seeking in connection with the teenager’s disappearance was also arrested. He is a 30-year-old resident of Lwówek County.
Police officers are thoroughly clarifying all the circumstances of the case.
In connection with the disappearance of the 14-year-old, the District Prosecutor’s Office in Bielsk Podlaski opened an investigation. The proceedings concern the deceitful recruitment of a minor for the purpose of exploiting her.
