The incident occurred on Wednesday, September 9, in the evening. Junior Aspirant Przemysław Ratajczyk from the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław:
The duty officer at the Bolesławiec police station urgently sent a patrol to the railway viaduct, where a man who wanted to take his own life was reportedly located. When the officers arrived, they saw a person leaning against the railings. The officers tried to get as close as possible so they could talk to the man. However, he threatened to jump if the police officers came any closer.
The spokesperson adds:
The officers’ experience and composure made it possible to resolve the standoff. When the person being intervened with looked away, the Bolesławiec police officers quickly ran up to him, preventing him from jumping off the viaduct.
The 33-year-old man was taken to hospital for examinations. The police:
