The District Prosecutor’s Office in Bolesławiec is investigating Wednesday’s case involving a man who jumped from the roof of a high-rise building on Bielska Street in Bolesławiec. Although the investigation is still ongoing, we were told that nothing indicates that third parties contributed to the death. It was most likely suicide.

Let us recall. The incident occurred on Wednesday, August 26, after 10:00 a.m. A man was spotted on the roof of one of the high-rise buildings on Bielska Street in Bolesławiec. (He was reportedly standing at the edge of the roof.) Emergency services went to the scene.

Shortly after the second fire engine arrived (about 30 seconds after the first arrived; firefighters had already begun unfolding the rescue air cushion), the man jumped.

Despite attempts to resuscitate him, the injured man could not be saved.

Discussion about suicide

We recommend watching our program about suicide. Our expert, Franciszek Małecki Trzaskoś, says: “People are dying, and I am in favor of talking about it,” Franciszek Małecki Trzaskoś. “The fact that we remain silent about suicide does not mean that the problem will disappear.”
