After yesterday’s events during the protest on Krakowskie Przedmieście and at Wilcza Street in Warsaw, I have a more honest scenario for Commissioner Leo’s meetings with preschoolers than the one used so far.

Commissioner Leo, instead of hugging children and posing for photos with them, without warning hit one toddler after another whose parents carelessly dressed them in a rainbow T-shirt, because we have to fight for a “normal” state. And then, Commissioner Leo, knock to the ground and pin down with your knee the heads of a few three-year-old girls who were dressed for kindergarten in trousers and blue blouses, because gender is dangerous and destroys healthy Polish society.

Hey, Commissioner Leo! Start the day by beating up several five-year-olds, handcuff them, choke them, kick them, smash their heads against the pavement, so that when the brats grow up they will not have a false image of a police officer who helps elderly people cross the street. And so that, when these children go to a peaceful demonstration in the future, they will not be surprised by police brutality. From an early age, already in kindergarten, they will be able to experience the taste of the police “protection” of citizens.

Do it this way, Commissioner Leo, because this is exactly what Polish citizens experienced when they protested in Warsaw against the court’s decision to remand Margot, an activist from the Stop Bzdurom collective suspected of damaging a van displaying lies about LGBT, in custody for two months.

Account by MP Magdalena Filiks

I am a reasonable citizen. I know that police officers must follow orders. That is how the police operate, and I do not want to change that. However, it is one thing when a thug, pumped up and high on testosterone, hardened by hooligan football brawls, attacks police officers, and quite another when police officers round up young women walking down the street who are half their size, throw them to the ground, smash their heads and choke them.

Commissioner Leo, you are carrying out your duties as ordered—that is not what I condemn! When a dangerous opponent your own size attacks you, Commissioner Leo, defend yourself; I will stand by you. But when you brutally harm people weaker than yourself, whom it would have been enough merely to identify and summon to the police station or gently push to get them into a police car, as you were ordered to do, do not choke them, injure them or handcuff them.

Commissioner Leo, do you remember? You swore to protect the honor, dignity and good name of the service and to observe the principles of professional ethics. Children trust that you are good when you come to them dressed as a friendly mascot.
