On the Facebook profile of Nadleśnictwo Bolesławiec, a video was published showing a young wolf cub playing. The little one is carefree as it plays on a slope in the forest. See for yourselves:

However, more important than the video is what can be read in the same Facebook post. We are publishing an excerpt of the text:

(...) When you go into the forest and encounter such a tiny creature, obvious questions arise: where is its mother, perhaps something happened to her, perhaps it got lost??? How poor, frightened and unhappy it looks... Maternal instincts awaken, along with the need to help and rescue it, and then disaster is ready... Nature has simple solutions and mechanisms geared towards survival; we really do not need to help it. So if you see such a sweet youngster in the forest, #LEAVE IT IN ITS HOME. That is the best thing you can do for it.

Another matter is that there are people who, for money and the desire for profit, are capable of taking such youngsters from dens and nests. Out of a desire to possess and tame something wild... Young wolves, for example, are taken and sold to breeders or kept and treated like dogs... although they will never be dogs...

Well, I will leave aside the fact that this is against the #LAW, because I am at a loss for words over such acts of stupidity. But in all this, the animals suffer the most: first, they will no longer return to their natural home, and second, even if they do return, they cannot survive alone, they lose their natural wariness of humans, which, in predatory animals such as the wolf, becomes dangerous for them and for us as well...

Our good intentions and emotional approach to certain, often cruel, phenomena in nature (that is, bambism) expose innocent animals to the loss of their freedom.

Therefore, let us allow nature to carry out its plan, and let creatures from the forest STAY in the forest. This young wolf cub in the video is having a wonderful time and is happy. I do not know what future awaits it, but it is at #HOME, and that is the most important thing; it would be better for it not to encounter a human on its path...
