On Saturday (12 September), BKS played a derby match against Twardy Świętoszów in Osiecznica. The clash between the two teams promised to be interesting. Several players who had previously played for BKS appear in the Świętoszów team.
Neither team set a fast pace from the beginning of the match. Twardy’s players focused on defensive play. BKS was also in no hurry to attack. In the 18th minute, Twardy created the first dangerous attack. Sławomir Iskrzak—who represented Bolesławiec last season—shot at Dawid Kizyma’s goal. The BKS goalkeeper intervened successfully. In the 25th minute, Łukasz Rudyk, also a former BKS player, attempted an overhead kick. Fortunately, the shot was off target.
The Bolesławiec side created a dangerous chance only in the 40th minute. Mateusz Janczyszyn played from the left side of the pitch toward Chrystian Serkies. The latter shot toward Twardy’s goal, but the effort was too weak and also off target. Before the end of the first half, Świętoszów threatened the Bolesławiec goal twice, but the score did not change.
Twardy gained a clear advantage in the second half. Rudyk, Iskrzak and Chruścicki shot at Dawid Kizyma’s goal. In the 69th minute, the Bolesławiec side had plenty of luck. First, Łukasz Rudyk shot at goal. After the goalkeeper’s uncertain intervention, Sławomir Iskrzak attempted another shot. Fortunately, Iskrzak’s effort was blocked by the defenders. Two minutes later, Łukasz Rudyk shot again. The ball hit the crossbar. In the 27th minute, Janusz Szkarpat took a corner. Jakub Wołyński headed the ball into the goal Jakub Wołyński and it was 1–0 for Świętoszów.
In the 82nd minute, BKS had its second chance to score. Mirosław Kunz, brought on for Sylwester Rydzak, passed to Adam Popecki, who missed terribly from 15 metres. In the 89th minute, Twardy could have made it 2–0, but Michał Błoński failed to convert a one-on-one chance against the goalkeeper. A minute later, Jakub Kocur Jakub Kocur did not waste his opportunity and set the final score. Twardy Świętoszów deservedly defeated BKS Bobrzanie 2–0 and moved into first place in the Lower Silesian IV League table.
After a good match against Prochowiczanka, BKS played a poor game against Twardy Świętoszów. The Bolesławiec side lacked effectiveness and ideas in their play. The referee also had a poor game. At first, the official’s decisions prompted protests from players of both teams. Toward the end of the match, the players and fans reacted mainly with laughter. After seven rounds of matches, BKS is seventh in the IV League table. Next Saturday (19 September), the Bolesławiec side will face Puma Pietrzykowice at home.
