The incident occurred on Thursday, September 10, in Brzeźnik. Thirty-year-old Robert P. entered the apartment of his 48-year-old neighbor and demanded money. A scuffle broke out, during which P. knocked the victim to the ground and then began beating and choking him.
The attacker stole his neighbor’s wallet, which contained PLN 660, as well as his documents. He was apprehended by the police shortly afterward. It turned out that he was completely drunk. He had nearly 3 per mille of alcohol in his system.
On Friday, September 11, the man appeared before the District Court in Bolesławiec. At the prosecutor’s request, he was temporarily detained for three months.
Robert P. is awaiting trial in custody in Lubań. He faces up to 12 years in prison.
