Let us recall: the incident occurred on September 10 after 6 p.m. on Żwirki i Wigury Street. The driver of a Volkswagen Transporter hit a scooter and then collided with a properly driven Volkswagen Passat.
The 33-year-old driver responsible for the collision drove onto the grass, got out of the vehicle and tried to flee. However, he was detained by the police. At the time of his arrest, he was completely drunk. He had almost 2.3 per mille of alcohol in his system.
On Friday, September 11, the Bolesławiec resident appeared before the District Court in Bolesławiec. The court sentenced him to three months in prison, imposed a four-year ban on driving motor vehicles and ordered him to pay a PLN 500 fine for a social purpose. It also permitted the convicted man's name to be made public.
The 33-year-old had repeatedly come into conflict with the law. The judgment is not final.
