The Watchdog organization asked all municipalities whether they had provided Poczta Polska with voter lists or intended to do so before the adoption of the Act on special rules for conducting general elections for the President of the Republic of Poland ordered for 2020.
Responses are still coming in, and the map with the information is being updated (Map – Are municipal offices providing voter lists without a legal basis?).
Taking the position that municipalities’ transfer of the voter register to Poczta Polska is unlawful, Watchdog began submitting notifications to prosecutors’ offices concerning the suspected commission of a crime by offices that provided Poczta Polska with this data.
It is known that in Bolesławiec County, the data was provided by the mayor of Nowogrodziec, Robert Relich. He boasted about it himself on the municipal website. We wrote about it in the article: Elections: The mayor of Nowogrodziec has already provided residents’ data to Poczta Polska. More than 87% of istotne.pl readers rated the mayor’s decision as bad.
Soon it will become clear whether the prosecutor’s office will investigate the mayor and what will come of it.
