Promotional codes are nothing more than strings of numbers and/or letters, sometimes also specific words, which are entered while making online purchases in the appropriate field, usually when finalizing the transaction, just before payment. Thanks to them, you can get a fixed-amount or percentage discount on purchases, and sometimes free delivery or free products. – The customer benefits because they obtain the code for free and without any obligations. They simply get a lower price. They can browse websites regularly or sign up for newsletters so that information about promotions arrives regularly. It is also a good idea to enter the store name and the phrase “discount code” into Google before making a purchase. The benefits of such actions are obvious. – Wojciech Maroszek wrote in his article on forbes.pl.
Promotional codes are in fact available online every day, but particularly large numbers of codes appear on the web during several periods of the year that are important from the perspective of the retail and services industry.
Promotional codes – when should you look for them?
By far the most important period for retail and services is the Christmas and New Year season. Before Christmas, we spend money both on groceries and gifts for our loved ones. At that time, it is worth looking online for promotional codes for toy stores, bookshops, CD stores, perfumeries, and various service providers as well. The period after the holidays, in turn, sees increased activity from clothing and footwear chains, which want to clear their warehouses of winter products as they prepare for the arrival of new spring collections. At that time, the Internet is overflowing with various promotional codes.
Another increasingly important period for retailers is Valentine’s Day. There is no denying it—we celebrate it on a mass scale, spending genuinely substantial sums on personal gifts for our partners. At that time, sales of lingerie, perfumes and jewellery see significant increases, as do sales of, for example, wine and chocolate. In February, it is therefore worth looking for promotional codes for jewellery stores and lingerie shops.
Promotional codes for financial institutions, banks, loans and sports betting can also be found. The latter work practically all year round and make it possible to obtain free bonuses for the first online coupon (they can be obtained on this page). However, remember to use betting codes offered exclusively by licensed operators (using bookmaker websites without a valid Ministry of Finance licence is prohibited and punishable). A list of legal companies can be found on the government website podatki.gov.pl. It is also important to be aware of the risk of becoming addicted to gambling—the promotions offered by bookmakers, including the aforementioned code, make betting more attractive, but at the same time, it must not be forgotten that you should gamble responsibly and, if you notice symptoms of addiction, contact an addiction-treatment specialist.
Another period rich in promotional codes is the summer sale, which lasts roughly from the beginning of July to the end of August. It is actually difficult to find stores that are not tempting customers with promotions then—clothing, footwear, recreational and sports equipment, as well as, for example, school accessories and supplies, can be bought more cheaply. During this period, promotional codes are particularly easy to find, so it is worth following, for example, several of the largest websites specializing in brokering them.
Black Friday (Czarny Piątek) is the last Friday of November, which in the United States marks the start of the pre-Christmas shopping season. This tradition has also caught on in Poland—on that day, stores offer goods at promotional, lower prices, while bargain hunters look, among other things, for electronics, consumer electronics and household appliances. Promotional codes make it possible to save money on online purchases at that time.
