As reported on the Nowogrodziec municipal office website, Mayor Robert Relich signed an agreement under which the Nowogrodziec Municipality is granting a subsidy of PLN 228,870 to counteract COVID-19. Purpose: co-financing the project entitled “Establishment of a molecular diagnostics laboratory at the Healthcare Complex in Bolesławiec”.

Nowogrodziec officials:

The newly established laboratory will make it possible to conduct on-site tests for COVID-19 infection, thereby reducing the waiting time for results to a minimum, which seems crucial in combating and preventing coronavirus. Despite various financial difficulties related to the current situation caused by the pandemic, we are trying to help, because such assistance contributes to reducing the spread of the virus and, consequently, the number of people falling ill among us.

Robert Relich:

I responded positively to the subsidy application submitted by Kamil Barczyk, Director of the Independent Public Healthcare Facility in Bolesławiec. I decided that, despite our difficult situation, in which we also need assistance, we would grant a subsidy to the hospital where our residents are also treated. This is the second subsidy in recent months. The first, amounting to PLN 457,740, was allocated to establish an MRI facility. The subsidy is financed from the municipality’s own budget funds and, consequently, from abandoning or limiting budgetary tasks by the following amounts:

  • PLN 184,870: reduction of the subsidy for the statutory activities of the Municipal Culture and Sports Centre in Nowogrodziec;
  • civic budget: PLN 44,000 for medical binders.

The position in question, as reported by the Municipality, was supported by all councillors of the Nowogrodziec Municipal Council following consultations with the mayor:
