Koleje Dolnośląskie decided to resume some services in consultation with the self-government of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. However, the other timetable changes introduced by the company on 20 March and 19 April 2020 remain in force.
“We are trying to respond dynamically to the changing epidemiological and economic situation. Taking into account the government’s latest decisions on reopening the economy, including the reopening of shopping centres, cultural venues and hotels, we decided to resume some services,” said Bartłomiej Rodak, spokesperson for Koleje Dolnośląskie.
More weekend services
The services will mainly resume on routes connecting Lower Silesian towns with the regional capital, as well as on sections leading to tourist regions. Passengers will benefit particularly from an increased number of trains at weekends.
“We continuously monitor passenger numbers on individual routes, and decisions concerning each service undergo detailed analysis. However, we realise that, in view of the restrictions gradually being lifted by the government and the approaching tourist season, the residents of Lower Silesia need additional services,” B. Rodak explained. “This is part of a broader yet flexible plan for restoring services, which we are working on.
Additional services will be restored on routes between Lubań Śląski and Wrocław, Legnica and Żary, Wrocław and Bielawa, Wrocław and Trzebnica, Wrocław and Kudowa-Zdrój, Legnica and Kamieniec Ząbkowicki, Wrocław and Kłodzko, Wrocław and Wałbrzych, and Wrocław and Legnica.
The frequency of the train from Żary (departure at 11:11) to Legnica (12:29) will also change; it will now run every day. The train from Kłodzko (departure at 17:08) to Wrocław Główny (arrival at 18:35) will run from Monday to Friday, except on public holidays.
The changes will also include the temporary shortening of the service from Legnica to Kłodzko departing at 6:21, as well as the return service from Kłodzko departing at 12:55, which will run to Kamieniec Ząbkowicki on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
The service from Głogów (departure at 8:37) to Wrocław (arrival at 10:39), which had temporarily been shortened to Legnica (arrival at 9:35), will instead be restored to its full route.
The full list of changes is available on the carrier’s website.
