As of 27 April 2020, a total of 20 people with confirmed coronavirus infection are staying in the long-term care facilities—the Palliative and Hospice Care Facility and the Care and Treatment Facility—operated by SPZOZ, out of a total of 53 patients. Ten cases were confirmed at the Care and Treatment Facility in testing conducted on 22 April. As a result of the second test of in-patient hospice patients, one patient who had tested positive in the first test received a negative result.
Between the day the first infection was detected and 27 April 2020, the total number of patients decreased by 19, including: 12 people transferred for hospitalization to the Isolation Ward in Oborniki Śląskie, 6 people transferred for hospitalization to the dedicated hospital in Bolesławiec, 2 people returned after hospitalization, and 3 people died.
The provision of medical services is secured by staff who work rotating shifts at the facilities. Volunteers are helping with the work, and we express our gratitude to them. The total number of infections among employees is 20 out of a total staff of 60. Ten employees are still awaiting the result of their first test or a repeat test.
We assure you that we are taking every possible measure to protect the safety of our patients and ensure the continuity of our facilities' operations.
Thank you for all the help and kindness shown by residents and institutions.
