WORD Wrocław, together with centres in Legnica, Wałbrzych and Jelenia Góra, was among the first in Poland to propose resuming examinations for driving candidates from 4 May. The Management Board of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship approved this, but due to the current situation, theoretical examinations will initially be held for all candidates, while practical examinations will be available only for categories A, C, C+E and D. Category B tests will resume at a later date.
“Category B examinations account for the vast majority of all driving tests. At present, organising them is practically impossible given the restrictions in force, so they will be restored at a later date. The directors of the WORD centres will decide on this matter independently, informing the Management Board of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship of their decisions on an ongoing basis,” says Tymoteusz Myrda, a member of the Management Board of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. “We want to gradually restore the remaining categories. This will require reorganising their previous operations to ensure proper protection and safety for everyone,” he adds.
Until the situation in the country returns to normal, the number of examinations held each day will be lower. The centres will also operate in two shifts. Tests will be conducted while maintaining safe distances between candidates and examiners, and the number of people present in a given area will be limited. Protective and disinfecting measures will also be used to disinfect vehicles and premises.
“The directors of the centres will carefully check whether their facilities are properly prepared to ensure the safety of examinees, trainees, examiners and other WORD employees. If they are able to guarantee everyone adequate protection, we see no obstacles to resuming examinations,” Tymoteusz Myrda concludes.
