All the speeding offences took place on the same day, Saturday, 25 April this year, in Bolesławiec and other locations in the county. The fastest driver, travelling at 109 km/h, was a 63-year-old resident of Bolesławiec. A 66-year-old resident of the Nowogrodziec municipality exceeded the speed limit by 56 km/h, while two other drivers were travelling at 103 km/h.
For violating road traffic regulations, the drivers were fined and given penalty points, and they also lost their driving licences for a period of three months. Police officers appeal to drivers to ease off the accelerator. The weather, especially during transitional periods, can be highly changeable, and sunshine does not always mean a dry road surface. Therefore, drivers should observe speed limits and adjust their speed to the prevailing conditions.
