Prof. Paweł Rowiński, a hydrologist and vice-president of PAN, told the Polish Press Agency:

At present, we have a much worse hydrological situation than during the corresponding period last year. Last year's drought was severe. If regular rainfall does not occur in the coming weeks, this year's drought could be even worse—perhaps one of the worst in the history of our country.

What about the Bóbr River?

Below, we present photographs from April 26.

Let us recall. Recently, we reported that from Saturday, April 18, to Tuesday, April 22, fire protection units intervened in 29 incidents in Bolesławiec County.

Officers from the County Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec:

Unfortunately, the increased number of incidents is mainly related to forest fires, of which 6 have already been recorded, as well as grass and wasteland fires—17. [...] the most likely cause of the fires was carelessly started fire or deliberate human action.

In several cases, the deployment of substantial rescue forces was necessary to extinguish the fire effectively and quickly, which in the current epidemic creates an additional risk for rescuers.

There were also quite a few fires this weekend. We will return to the subject.
